I am not a clergy, pastor, minister nor evangelist; but God empowered(anointed) me with a skill(gift and mission). Those that will, take a trip with me to B.C. 745, 695 (Isaiah 2:4) and B.C. 740, 700 (Micah). Our destination will be to Jerusalem, Assyria. Isaiah 2:4 "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Micah 6:1 "Hear ye now what the Lord saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. 6:4 "For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants: and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron and Miriam. Sometimes it seems like looking at what is going on in everyday life, that it can be hard for some to see or believe that there is a divine plan. Thousands of firms, things and nations move on towards the grand prize. Men/Women may be instruments in God's hands without knowing it. Let's look at Cyrus, when he was moving his armies toward Babylon, he did not realize that he was accomplishing divine purpose for the humbling of the enemy and the deliverance of the ememys people. Yet, as we see from the movements of nations, the kingdoms, the kings and the prophets, it is God who is at work. Just a biblical reminder whether man/woman knows it or not they are fulfilling the purpose of his will. To my understanding the worst enemies in this text of scripture were really helping to herald his triumphs. The record shows how some of the good kings consulted the prophets. I try to seek access to God when I am making plans. The wise man said "In all they ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." The difference between nations shall be settled in the kingdom of God. God is making a plea;he is giving a nation, individual sober advice. In 80 A.D. Anthrax hit Rome. On December 16, 1835 (NYC) 700 buildings destroyed by fire: damaged at $20 million. The original terrorists, or model for terrorism may well have been the ancient Assyrians. The Scriptures are: II King 17:6-18 : The Account of Jonah and the Terrorist This is then the setting for Jonah's command to go to Nineveh : Jonah 1:1-2 1 The word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai saying, 2 "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city, and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me."(NAS) The academic consensus is that Jonah went to Assyria about 30 years before the capture of Israel by Assyria. Jonah 4: 10 Then the LORD said, "You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work, and {which} you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight. 11 "And should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know {the difference} between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?" (NAS) J.L. Eason in The New Bible Survey,© 1963, pub. Zondervan, pp. 272-5; writes that Jonah was from Gath-Hepher, a few miles from Nazareth in Galil. Jesus said some 700 years later in Matt 16:4; 4 "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah." And He left them, and went away.(NAS) Jesus mentioned Jonah 5 times in Matthew. Biblical Truths: Proverbs 29:4: Justice gives a country stability Isaiah 38:16: Prayer for health Job 33:25: Restored health for Job Luke 18:7,8: God will bring justice John 14:27: Let not your heart be troubled Psalm 121: Traveler Psalm 121: Security I Peter 5:8: Watch out for attacks from the evil one Daniel was one of many whom God had given visions. Daniel had a problem that the wisest men in the country said was impossible-to not only intrepret a dream, but remember it for the king who had forgotten it. Daniel went to his friends and asked for sincere prayer and God granted their request. Some may be saying Why God is this going on? I do not understand nor can I explain in my small mind but I can share hope. God does not require us to understand but he does require me to have faith and obey. God can give peace and understanding that goes beyond (Biblical truth) earthly wisdom. In Daniel 8:15-26 Daniel saw a vision which was the fate of the nations. Daniel proceeded to go about his business for the king. I would think that Daniel focused on the promises of hope at the end of the vision. Daniel did know that God was in TOTAL control. Some warfare is moral or/and spiritual; which is the uprising between good and evil. I know that GOD is in TOTAL control and my peace is Judges 6:23-24.
