About-Him Devotional 08-18-01
John 14:1 Let not your
heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are
many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am,
there ye may be also.
I will come again; an
absolute promise from an absolute God. Why is he coming for us? That where I
am, there ye may be also.
The promise was reiterated by the angels
at Christ's ascension - this same Jesus....shall so come in like manner
(Acts 1:9-11).
It was repeated by
Paul:
Then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet
the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians
4:17 ).
And reaffirmed in
Revelation:
Revelation 1:7 Behold, he
cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced
him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so,
Amen.
This is our hope and destiny. We struggle
against the evil of this world, that we may be found watching, working and
waiting for our Lord's return. No curse over there (Revelation
22:3), He has promised to make all things new (Revelation 21:5). No more
pain, no sorrow, no twisted bodies, no more dying children, no war, no disease,
no payments, no more sweat of the brow, etc.etc. Over there, nothing will hurt
or destroy us (Isaiah 11:9; 65:25). He will be our God and we will be His
people. (II Corinthians 6:16).

"Your Honor, I want to bring to your attention
how unfair it is for my client to be accused of theft. He arrived in New York

few words of English."
The Judge looked at the defendant and asked, "How much English can you speak?" The defendant looked up and said, "Give me your wallet!" Keep Looking Up! Don & Marie Spooner About Him! Ministries Your thoughts and Inquiries Contact@about-him.com Subscribe to this devotional? Subscribe@about-him.com
