About-Him Devotional 07-14-01
Revelation 22:3 And there shall be
no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his
servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and
his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night
there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God
giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Some who are close to me were
recently affected by a tragedy where a young couple had lost their second and
last child to
accident in the last six months. Naturally the questions arise. Why? Where is
God? How could this happen? When questioned, I did my best to explain that many
things that beset us are because of the curse of sin.
Thank God, the day is at hand
where there will be no more curse. The thief, the murderer, the tempter, the
destroyer, the accuser, will have been bound and cast into hell. All that
will remain are those who have been washed in the blood of Jesus and purified by
His Spirit. All will be perfect, absolutely holy and
righteous.
We will be with our Lord, we will
see His face. His name shall be written on our foreheads. I believe this
signifies His seal of our relationship to Him as our God and we as His
children.
How do we comprehend a place where
God's glory furnishes an eternal light. No more works of darkness, no more
sin, no more heaviness, no more unexplained tragedies, we are going to be with
Him and reign as kings and priests unto Him eternally. That's
exciting!
