About-Him Devotional 06-16-01
For though ye
have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in
Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel - 1 Corinthians 4:15
.
At our church in Las Vegas, I have
been asked to have a few appropriate remarks tomorrow pertaining to Father's
Day. As I try to prepare, my thoughts go back to my earthly father, and of
course to my heavenly Father. I know that my earthly father earnestly sought the
heart and mind of God. He didn't leave me any financial legacy; he left me
something far more precious. He left me a legacy of:
If I can pass these things along
to my children, I will have succeeded in being a father.
I believe it is the desire of all
of us to have a true father's heart, not only to our natural children, but
to all with whom we come in contact with in the ministry and in all walks of
life.
