Because I Live, Ye Shall Live Also Happy Resurrection Sunday - Jesus is Risen! I ran across this audio devotional that we did in 2006. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ It is about 7 minutes long. I believe you will be blessed. John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Because I live, you will live also. Calvary was just a few hours away. Jesus knew that he would soon be sentenced to death in Pilate’s judgment hall. He knew the agony that He would face and was well aware that the burden of all of man’s sin would be laid on Him. He also knew that He would rise again in three days. Death was simply an unpleasant although necessary interlude. Man could kill His flesh but they couldn’t kill the God who dwelled within Him. He, the living Word of God, has always lived as an integral part of God’s person. He was in the beginning with God and was God. He came into the world as a man to accomplish our redemption and soon would be returning to the bosom of His Father from whence He came. Hebrews 2:10 tells us that Jesus, by tasting death for every man, led many sons to glory. By His resurrection, Jesus became the first fruits of them who slept (I Cor. 15:20) Because He conquered death, death can have no dominion over us, either. For the believer, death is simply a necessary transformation from mortal to immortal. When we hear the trumpet of God, the grave won’t be able to hold us. Our bodies may have totally dissolved into dust, but when the archangel gives a shout we will be instantaneous reconstituted and join our Lord in the air (I Cor. 15:23). Because He lives, we have the privilege of receiving His Holy Spirit. Jesus said that He would go with us, even unto the end of the world. As the song says, Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. We can walk through this world without fear, knowing that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Because he lives within us, we can overcome the spirit of antichrist that is running rampant throughout this world (I John 4:3-4). We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but our risen Savior does. We, like the early Christians, are not immune from tribulations and the wrath of man. Thomas saw His nail scars and declared, “My Lord and my God,” and was forever changed. Peter, who had denied Him, saw the empty tomb and was never silent again. All of the apostles but John died a martyred death. They had been eyewitnesses of the resurrection and ascension and nothing that man could do could ever make then deny Him again. After the time of the apostles, the Romans slaughtered Christians by the thousands. They were fed to the lions and tortured for mere amusement, but most did not deny their Lord. They had met the risen Savior and had an unshakeable confidence that their death would be nothing more than a temporary unpleasantness. They knew that because Jesus lived, they would live also. 1Peter 1:3 ¶ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Yes, we have a living hope in Jesus, all because all because of His resurrection. If He had stayed in the grave, our faith would be in vain, because He would be just like any number of so-called gods that people worship to day. When they died, they stayed in the grave. Jesus came out of the grave and ascended into heaven. He lives on the throne of God where makes intercession for each and everyone of us. Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [which are] the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Jesus died because of our offenses and was raised to make us righteous (Ro. 4:25). We were reconciled to God by His death and now that we are reconciled, we will be saved by the life of Jesus which dwells within us (Ro. 5:10). I Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the victory that Jesus purchased for us by His death and resurrection. We have the assurance of escaping judgment and spending eternity with Him. John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. God is not what you imagine or what you think you understand. If you understand you have failed. - Augustine Free Ebooks That You Can Download.
