My Favorite Teacher However, my favorite teacher is named Grace. Grace, which means unmerited favor and divine enablement, among other things, came on the scene in the person of Jesus Christ, God manifested in flesh. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. It was Grace that called us to repentance and teaches us God's ways. Grace has been working in all of our lives to perfect us in the sight of God. As the old hymn states so well, “It was grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved, How precious did that grace appear, the hour that I first believed.” Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 5:15 But not as the offence, so also [is] the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, [which is] by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. It is Grace that leads us into perfection in Christ. 1Timothy 2:11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; The Grace of God saved us as we were, but the Grace of God also cleans us up. Grace always prompts us to take the upward path. By Grace we discern the hidden dangers in seemingly harmless pursuits and by Grace we deny worldly lusts, so that we may please the One who called us to His righteousness and godliness. We didn’t do anything to earn the favor of God's Grace. Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: It is Grace that enables us to work for the kingdom. 1Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. It is Grace that gives us a future hope in Christ. Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. It is Grace that allows us to stand and cope in an ever increasing world. Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: We all get dismayed at the downward spiral of our society. We certainly live in the perlious times described in 2Timothy 3:1-9. Every vice listed here is prevalent and ever increasing. W e could get very discouraged, but we have the promise that as sin increases , Grace increases. God sees the sinner, just as He saw us. His heart goes out to each and every one. He extends His Grace to us to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and He extends His grace to accept the saving message of the cross of Jesus. When We've been there ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun We’ll have no less days to sing God’s praise then when we just began All because of God’s marvelous Grace. Keep Looking Up!
