This is the Day - I Will Rejoice Psalms 118: This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I intend to make the best of it. It could also be my last day on earth before meeting my Maker. I would rather go out praising singing and smiling , than griping and complaining. I woke up and complained about the stormy weather, but when I saw the news, I saw that there was flooding and tornadoes elsewhere. So what am I complaining about? Yesterday is gone, but tomorrow is full of promise and there is a prize to be obtained. Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We live in perilous times just as the bible foretold (II Timothy 3:1-5). Anywhere we look there are problems and trouble, murder and mayhem. Men are fierce and things aren't getting any better. Looking at the events in Iraq and the worries about terrorists and Iran, we see the distress of nations with perplexity that Jesus told us of (Luke 21:25). It is easy to be negative, but we have so more more for which we can rejoice. I rejoice because I have confidence in the One who knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). He creating all things by a simple word and spread the heavens forth like a scroll ()Isaiah 42:5, 44:24. He placed each of the millions of stars in it's proper place and has a name for each of them (Isaiah 40:26). The sun and the moon do their assigned jobs everyday without fail because they are following the directions of Him who upholds all things by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3) and by whom all thing consist (Colossians 1:17). Men could fire a rocket today and know precisely where it would land one hundred years from now. Our God is just that precise (James 1:17). As the clouds cleared this morning and gave way to sunshine, i was reminded that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). We know that His purpose was to gather all things together in Christ Jesus. He is not willing that any perish. Paul said our light afflictions are just for a moment, but they work to assure our eternal glory (II Corinthians 4:17). We remember the admonition of Colossians 3:17 to do all things in the name of Jesus as we give praise to God. By this name we received salvation and healing and have been delivered us from imminent disaster. His name will also keep us safely in the troubled days ahead. So when trouble comes, and it will, I will praise Him. When the good times come, and they do, I will rejoice. When I eat my daily bread I will thank the One who supplied it and remember those less fortunate, all in the name of Jesus. I will give praise, honor and glory to the Lord Jesus, recognizing that He gave His life for me on a very different day long ago, so that I might walk with Him today and be assured of eternal salvation. I intend to make the best of this privilege. New Recording: To Be Like Jesus MP3 Low-fi/RealAudio In About-Him

One night a wife found her husband standing over their baby's crib. Silently she watched him.
As he stood looking down at their sleeping infant, she saw on his face a mixture of emotions:
disbelief, doubt, delight, amazement, enchantment--and even a little skepticism.
Touched by the unusual display and the deep emotions it aroused, with eyes glistening she
slipped her arm around her husband. "A penny for your thoughts," she whispered."It's
amazing!" he replied. "I just can't see how anybody can make a crib like that for only $79.95!"
